The Founders:
Dr. Michael A. Yeomans is an internationally recognized expert in the global pharmaceutical industry. He has worked in various roles, including discovery research, preclinical and clinical development, strategic planning and business development and licensing. He has been responsible for negotiating, closing, and implementing more than 100 strategic partnerships between companies in Europe, the US, Japan, India, China, Korea and Israel.
In July 2010 he co-founded Partners in Pharma LLC and has advised numerous small, medium and large biopharma companies on growing their businesses through strategic partnerships and facilitated the negotiation and closing of value-adding alliances.
Dr. Yeomans was previously the Senior Vice President, Head
of Global Business Development & Licensing, for Bayer Schering Pharma AG,
based in Berlin, Germany, where he managed the integration of the business development teams of Bayer Pharma and Schering AG into a world-class global team.
Before joining Bayer
Schering Pharma, Dr. Yeomans was SVP, Head of Global Business Development at Biovail
Corporation, a Canadian-based specialty pharmaceutical company, where he rebuilt the business development function. Prior to that he held the position of SVP, Head of Global Business Development at Aventis, Hoechst Marion Roussel and
Hoechst AG.
After earning his Ph.D. in
organic chemistry from the University of London, Dr. Yeomans joined Hoechst as
a research chemist and spent 7 years in drug discovery and development in the
UK. Following that, he held a
series of progressively more responsible senior positions within the Hoechst
Group in Germany and the United States.
Dr. Yeomans is a
long-standing member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Licensing
Executives Society, and a frequent speaker and panelist at leading
industry conferences.
Elaine Yeomans has had a varied international career. After graduating from University
College, University of London, with a degree in modern languages she studied
law, was admitted as a solicitor and practised with the firm of Becke Phipps,
now Hewitsons, in Northampton. She
went on to become Head of Company Law at the Confederation of British Industry
in London, advising on proposed new UK and EU legislation and negotiating with
British and European industry partners, members of parliament and government
officials. She combined her linguistic and legal skills as co-founder and Managing Director of Jurislingua Business Law Translations GmbH in Frankfurt,
Germany, specializing in legal translations for the international business
community. She has a Masters
degree in European Community Law, with a specialization in joint ventures, and
is a Member of the Law Society. In
between her legal career, managing properties around the world and raising her
family, Elaine has had close ties to the pharmaceutical industry for almost 40
years.
